Usage data captured automatically

Each time this website is visited, so-called usage data is logged in server log files as a customary operation on the web. This usage data is automatically transmitted by your web browser. The following information is concerned:

  • IP (Internet protocol) address of the computer from where this website is accessed
  • Internet address of the website from where this website was called (so-called origin or referrer URL)
  • Name of the service provider via which access to this website takes place
  • Name of the files and/or information retrieved
  • Date, time and duration of retrieval
  • Data volume transmitted
  • Operating system and information regarding the web browser of the computer accessing this website
  • http status code (such as "request successful" or "file requested not found")

For security reasons (for instance, in order to identify attempted attacks), we store the above-mentioned usage data for a maximum period of seven days and then delete it. Data to be retained as evidence for a longer period of time is exempt from deletion until the underlying event has been finally clarified. Log file data can in some cases be forwarded to investigation authorities.

Otherwise usage data is used for web analysis purposes as described in the "Google Analytics" section below.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies", i.e. text files which are stored on your computer and enable your usage of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookie regarding your usage of this website is normally sent to a Google server in the US and stored there. However, in the event that the IP anonymization feature is activated on this website, Google will first set the last digits of your IP address to zero in member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address will be sent to a Google server in the US and shortened there in exceptional cases only. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google uses this information in order to evaluate your usage of the website, compile reports on website activities and provide further services to the website operator related to website and Internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser in conjunction with Google Analytics will not be combined by Google with other data.

Please note that on this website Google Analytics was amended by the "gat._anonymizeIp();" code in order to ensure anonymized capture of IP addresses.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your browser software. Please note, however, that you may then be unable to use all functions of this website.

You can also download and install the browser plugin from the link below in order to prevent the capture of the data (including your IP address) generated by cookies and related to your usage of the website as well as its transmission to Google and processing by Google. The current link is:

We have taken technical and administrative security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All of our employees and service providers working for us are obliged to abide by the applicable data protection laws.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, such data is encrypted before being transmitted. This means that misuse of your data by third parties is not possible. We are permanently working on enhancing our security precautions and updating our data privacy policies. Please ensure that you have the latest version.

You can request information from us concerning whether and to what extent we process your data.

Right to rectification:

Irrespective of the exercising of your right to erasure, we will erase your data immediately and completely, unless there is a contractual or legal obligation to retain it.

Right to restriction of the processing:
You may request that we restrict the processing of your data if

- the processing of the data is unlawful, but you refuse to have it erased and instead request a restriction on the use of the data,

If it is technically feasible, you can ask us to transfer your data directly to another responsible party.

Right of objection:
If we process your data on the basis of a legitimate interest, you can object to this data processing at any time; this would also apply to any profiling which is based on these provisions. We will then no longer process your data unless we can prove compelling reasons worthy of protection for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims. You can object to the processing of your data for the purposes of direct advertising at any time without stating any reasons.

Right of appeal:
If you are of the opinion that we are infringing German or European data protection law when processing your data, please contact us so that we can clarify any questions. Of course you also have the right to contact the supervisory authority which is responsible for you, i.e. the respective State Office for Data Protection Supervision.
If you wish to assert any of the above rights against us, please contact our Data Protection Officer. In cases of doubt we may request additional information to confirm your identity.
