Under the patronage of the Ivorian Ministry for Women, Families and Children, the "Dabou" children's home lovingly cares for children and orphans in need. In many cases, the children living there have been abandoned by their biological parents, as some of them have very severe disabilities, such as autism, child psychosis and cerebral palsy.
The children's home was founded in 1950 to offer these children a safe environment and good basic care.
In April 2024, the GAUFF Foundation made a donation in kind totalling EUR 48,000 to the Dabou orphanage, which included urgently needed equipment and medication.
The donation was a great help as some of the existing equipment and facilities were outdated and there was a shortage of medical equipment. The donation included washing machines, wheelchairs, beds, mattresses and blankets, which will help to significantly improve the quality of life of the local children.
The director of the orphanage and the nursing team left a deep impression on the visitors to the GAUFF Foundation. They work with so much dedication and commitment to the welfare of the children that support from external organisations and foundations is more than justified.
