Approximately 50 children and adolescents that are mentally and physically challenged are cared for in the school Mapunda (“Escola Especial”) in the Angolan province Huila. The school is an establishment of the provincial government and is located in the district of Mapunda in the capital of Lubango.

The GAUFF Foundation has decided to finance the measures necessary to ensure the children’s permanent supply with drinking water and electrical energy. The donation with a total value of 70,000 Euro comprises the rehabilitation of the existing drinking-water fountain, a photovoltaic operated pumping station, new pipelines and a water reservoir, a connection to the electric supply network, as well as the purchase and assembly of a generator as a backup system. Furthermore, GAUFF Engineering has assumed the costs of learning aids and IT equipment for the promotion and education of these children.

In December 2015, after a construction period of around 2 weeks, the new water and energy supply could be officially handed over to the school administration and the inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of representatives of the provincial government and delegates of the foundation.
