The University Agostinho Neto (UAN), founded in 1976 is said to be the oldest university in Angola and with around 30,000 students (May 2015), the largest one in the country. The government-funded university with seven faculties, an institute for health science and a college for hotel and tourism can largely do without tuition fees and is growing continuously. In order to support education and teaching at this university with up-to-date teaching material, the GAUFF Foundation has made a donation of textbooks with a total value of € 30,000 - for the faculties chemistry, mechanics and construction. The symbolic handing over of the books to the Dean of the University, Ph.D. Mrs Alice de Fatima P.C. Almeida took place in April 2015 in the presence of representatives of the government and media.
